Born of immigrant parents, I learned the value of hard work and perseverance at a very young age. I was born in California, then moved to El Salvador when I was one. I then moved to Honduras when I was 5. The struggles I experienced there have helped me become resilient. When I was 11 years old, I moved back to the United States.
My parents taught me that nothing can stop me if I do things on purpose, with purpose. Knowing only how to speak Spanish, I set a goal for myself to learn English in one year. All of that year I spent all my recess time learning how to read, write, and speak English. By the end of the school year, I was able to accomplish my goal.
It was vital for me to catch myself winning, and that helped me not give up on my goal. I knew that I could accomplish anything I wanted to if I remembered to always focus on the things I could control and never giving up.
I played Varsity Football and Soccer in high school, making the All-State Soccer Team in Georgia in 2010. Upon graduation, I chose to forgo playing at the collegiate level in order to serve a voluntary 2-year mission for my church in Long Beach, California. There, I learned how to cultivate discipline and diligence, which are the most important attributes to possess when attempting to improve at anything.
In 2018, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Kennesaw State University. Subsequently, I graduated with a M.Ed. in School and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Positive Coaching from Mizzou.
My wife and I have 2 little boys that keep us very busy.
